Natural Fibers
We honour our brand values by sourcing high-quality natural fibres to create durable, timeless garments that will stand the test of time.
We take responsibility for every raw material we use, always selecting the most ethically considered options for our signature core material group.
All our products are proudly made in Italy.
Our MaterialsAt Luca Faloni we pride ourselves on delivering a superior Cashmere Collection. We only use minimum two-ply pure cashmere from the exclusive Cariaggi Fine Yarns Collection recognised for their Made In Italy excellence. In 2006, Cariaggi was awarded certification for its standards of eco-management and committed to safeguarding and caring for the environment.
Cariaggi has adopted ‘Systema Naturae Natural Dye’, world-class Italian innovation applied to the extraction of colour to create a yarn free of chemicals resulting from natural and biodegradable dyes which ensure as minimal environmental impact as possible. Knitting is the final stage of the production of our Cashmere Collection, which takes place in Northern Italy, honouring the decades of experience of our artisans.
Our MaterialsWe source linen from the Albini Group who leverage their expertise passed on from one generation to the next and rigidly invest in the reduction of the environmental impact. Albini Group chooses the linen of Terre de Lin, who cultivate their flax in Normandy renowned for their high quality and properties.
“The sustainable path of Albini Group starts with the use of carefully selected raw materials, while respecting the people and the environment .”- Silvio Albini
Linen is an excellent natural material made from flax fibre and is one of the oldest continuously cultivated plants in the world. Flax grows naturally and requires no additional water other than rainwater and will grow with no pesticides making it the most eco-friendly fabric.
As a natural material, linen has the ability to biodegrade, so any waste will simply decompose rather than end up in a landfill and result in less drain on the planet’s resources. While linen is 35 percent stronger than cotton, its chief advantage is its longevity. Using prime quality linen is also critical to ensure colours will not fade away, even after many washes. As a result, this resilient cloth is adverse to pilling and will keep strength over the years.
Our MaterialsCotton is a durable fibre with an incredibly natural performance. It is soft to wear against your body and has excellent breathability. We treat cotton as a precious fibre and include it in our carefully produced and long-lasting garments.
Our weavers at Grandi & Rubinelli are certified by Oeko Tex Standard 100, a Swiss certification which ensures that no harmful substances are used in the dying of the yarn and the finishing of their fabrics. Our mill supports full transparency on their production chain by joining “TF Traceability & Fashion” an Italian project for social and environmental responsibility.
Organic farming techniques use significantly less water as the crops are mainly rain-fed instead of irrigated. And because there are no chemicals used in organic farming, there are no unnecessary toxins going into the ground. All of which is better for the environment, and for farmers and safeguarding communities.
